Official Description by The CW for Supergirl 2.01“When a new threat emerges in National City, Kara/Supergirl teams up with her cousin, Clark Kent/Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) to stop it. Kara is thrilled to have family in town but it leaves Alex feeling a bit left out. Meanwhile, Hank and Supergirl are stunned by the pod that came crashing to Earth. Guest Stars include Katie McGrath (Lena Luthor), Brenda Strong (The Doctor), Frederick Schmidt (John Corben), and Andrea Brooks (Eve Teschmacher).”

  1. I think that Clark/Superman running down the alley is a reference to “Adventures of Superman”. George Reeves always ran before he took off. There can NEVER be too many references to Superman movies!

    It’s very possible that the running down the alley moment could be a reference to Adventures of Superman and George Reeves, but I also took it as a parallel to Kara running down the alley to take off for the first time in the “Pilot”.

    Either interpretation is a nice thought 🙂
